Twin Farms is located in bucolic Barnard, Vermont, about 90 minutes from Burlington, three hours from Boston, or five from New York City. Stays are reserved for adults only and are inclusive of all meals, fine wines and spirits, as well as all activities and equipment.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
The Assistant Beverage Manager will support the Wine Director in overseeing the full spectrum of beverage operations across the resort, including wine, spirits, beer, and bar service. This hands-on leadership role involves inventory management, staff training, vendor relations, and guest engagement, contributing to an elevated and seamless beverage experience throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Beverage Program Oversight
- Assist in the management and development of the overall beverage program, maintaining a thoughtful and dynamic selection of wine, spirits, and beer.
- Collaborate with the Wine Director and bar team to curate menus and implement seasonal updates.
- Support planning and execution of special beverage events, tastings, and producer visits.
- Ordering & Inventory Management
- Place and receive orders for wine, spirits, and beer, ensuring accuracy and consistency in supply.
- Maintain and organize all beverage storage areas, including the wine cellar and bar stockrooms.
- Track usage, manage par levels, and perform regular inventory counts to support cost control initiatives.
- Work with vendors, distributors, and producers to source premium products aligned with Twin Farms' standards.
- Team Development & Service Excellence
- Train and mentor front-of-house and bar staff on beverage knowledge, service standards, and responsible service.
- Support the delivery of personalized beverage service, including wine pairings and craft cocktails.
- Lead by example in upholding hospitality standards and attention to detail in all beverage-related guest interactions.
- Guest Engagement
- Interact directly with guests to provide beverage recommendations and elevated experiences.
- Contribute to a warm, intuitive, and informed service culture across dining venues and private events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include but are not limited to:
- 2+ years of experience in beverage management or bar leadership in a luxury hospitality or fine dining setting.
- Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and mixology; sommelier certification- WSET or CMS preferred.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Service-oriented with a passion for hospitality and continual learning.
- Ability to lift and move cases of wine and spirits and thrive in a physically active role.
Required Working Conditions include but are not limited to:
- Tasks often conducted in a physical, fast-paced environment with ever-changing demands.
- Occasional desk work; but, in conducting a dinging activity, frequent reaching, bending, and stooping with constant walking/moving around.
- Frequent travel and transporting of materials between work areas - even under inclement weather.
- Regularly pushing, lifting, and carrying of 10 to 15 pounds; occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
- Work involves leadership and collaboration with a team as well as staff from other departments.
- Shift hours vary, but may be long, include weekend and holiday attendance, and require some availability for emergency and/or to cover staffing needs.
