We are looking for an experienced, organised and motivated Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team and ensure consistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout Palé Hall.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in maintaining excellent standards, enjoys supporting and developing a team, and can organise a busy housekeeping operation effectively.

This is a full time permanent position, 40 hours per week, five days over seven.

As Head Housekeeper, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the housekeeping department. Your duties will include:

  • Leading, supervising and motivating the housekeeping team
  • Planning daily workloads, rotas and staff allocation
  • Ensuring all rooms and communal areas are cleaned and presented to a consistently high standard
  • Carrying out regular quality and cleanliness inspections
  • Training, supporting and developing members of the housekeeping team
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering cleaning products, linen and other supplies as required
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained and used safely
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure an efficient and professional service
  • Ensuring health and safety, COSHH and infection-control procedures are followed
  • Responding promptly and professionally to any housekeeping issues
  • Supporting recruitment, induction and performance management within the department

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous housekeeping experience, ideally including supervisory or management responsibility
  • Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in maintaining high standards
  • Is confident leading, motivating and organising a team
  • Has good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can prioritise workloads and remain organised in a busy environment
  • Is reliable, approachable and willing to take a hands-on approach
  • Understands the importance of health and safety and safe working practices
  • Is committed to delivering an excellent experience for our guests
